History of the Product

 1) The product I have chosen is the Cadburys product Twirl due to my favouring of the product as well as how it fits with the third idea, I had for the advertising campaign with regard to the slogan.

2) The product had first launched in Dublin Ireland in 1985 and released in the UK two years later. The product has been internationally marketed since the 1990s.

3) I believe that the audience for the product was the general audience due to the simple nature of the packaging as well as the simple taste of the product. The product is not specifically advertised as a product that can be had on the go or to have as a luxury however the product will be able to fit both of the roles. The target audience for the product is much the same as to when it first released being the general audience as they wish to sell the product to as many people as possible.

4) The packaging of the twirl product is simple. The wrapper is a single colour purple and has the name of the product on the front of the packaging. The text is unique almost comical and is written in a yellow colour as to compliment the main colour of the packaging purple.

5) The advertisement had been released on the 11th of September 2011.

With regard to the audience the advertisements appeal is that it is unique in how they sell the product. This is because the advertisement shows a contraption that is doing a wide variety of things and then ends with the image of the product. The audience would be interested with the events in the advertisement but would be confused with the linking to the product as it is not explained. In regard to call to action the advertisement does not specifically have a website link to follow or any other form of finding information regarding the product simply that it recommends to the viewer that they acquire the product. With regard to the unique selling point of the product with the advertisement is the unique method of advertisement with the product of the contraption that is being used within the advertisement to get the attention of the viewer.

6) The idea for the campaign appears to be over the top with the contraption that is being used within the advertisement this trend can be followed with the third idea in which I had for the advertisements. Perhaps when the student gets the twirl out the scores on her paper go up dramatically. This is not too much of a stretch that it is not useable and instead can be applied but going too far into it may make the advertisement as unrecognisable as a product for Cadburys.
