Explanation of your prior experience of and learning around similar products

Previously I have worked on several units for media where I have planned and developed media products when working from a brief in which I have been given. Such units were unit 14 and 16 where a radio short was developed, unit 15 created idents to advertise a tv channel, unit 3 where we worked on an opening to a thriller and an IT unit where I had worked to create a website for a client from a brief that I was given. Some of these units were done in groups when producing the products from the briefs whilst others I was working by myself to produce them. Once all the needed pre planning documents for the production was completed the needed actual production work could begin for the products which was consistent of a large amount of organisation and carrying out the plans.

In regard to working around radio I have previously worked on a radio in order to promote the awareness of mental health problems that can occur with social media which was consistent of myself creating the needed script for the radio and them editing the audio and creating it in video format in which could be placed onto YouTube for being seen. I will be able to carry out the needed audio recordings as well as edit them together properly in order to allow the final version of the radio product to sound proper once it has been completed. In regard to experience with print I do not possess any prior experience in working in the area of print for a brief however I will do what is necessary in order to complete this.

In regard to my strengths for previous experience when working on media products for the briefs in which I was following my knowledge of using the necessary tools for editing together the products. When working on the media products I had done most of the work when it came to editing the product ensuring that the final product was to the correct standard without prior experience with working on the software used by the school. In regard to my weakness was being unable to plan ahead in the outcome in which one of the people within the group is unable to attend and complete the needed work. During these drafts a person with the groups was not consistently in therefore would not be able to properly contribute therefore delaying the products slightly and thus proving the lack of skills in forward preparation for the product. With regard to opportunities there is good opportunity with creating the radio advertisement as this product as I have had the most experience in using the needed software when creating these products therefore meaning that this radio advertisement would be one of the better for the brief. With regard to threats the weakness I possess of the poor planning ahead skills I may prove unable to predict certain things that could happen to me or to the project therefore proving ineffective with the creation of the product for the advertisement.

An area in which I need to develop are the area of preparing for certain outcomes so that the project is not massively affected by said outcomes for example with some of the previous briefs I was unable to properly plan for the outcome that one member of the group would not be in therefore the work in which needed to be done by the remaining two of us had grew. Currently my skills with planning ahead for certain outcomes are not as effective as they should be and to improve them would mean that to better prepare for the outcomes that may yet happen. Another area in which I need to develop is the use of the needed software in which will be required to be used in order to create the poster that is required as i have no prior experience with the software that is going to be used to do so. This skill will be key as with this skill I will be able to properly create the desired poster that is required to advertise the product in which Cadburys has asked to be rebranded in order to meet the brief. Hence the areas in which I need to improve in order to better prepare myself with the tasks in which have been asked of me by Cadburys Choclate.
